Terminator
Creative Challenge

Campaign + Social + UX/UI
Client: Adobe (Outcast Client)

Overview
The Terminator Creative Challenge is a partnership between Adobe and Paramount Pictures that highlighted the use of Adobe video editing software in the film Terminator: Dark Fate.

Challenge
Participants were challenged to use Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro to reimagine the official Terminator trailer. We were asked to design engaging creative for the audience to garner participation and excitement.

Solution
We established a creative direction that focused on the primary antagonist in Terminator: Dark Fate, the Rev-9 android. We kicked off the campaign with a Rev-9 takeover of the Adobe social channels. This continued through the visuals, which were tech-focused and mimicked an interface one might expect the Rev-9 to see. The website, which was a three-phase site for before, during, and after the challenge, had many motion elements to continue this look and feel.

We designed social creatives promoting the contest (posted on both the Adobe and Paramount social channels) to encourage fans to participate. We also created a website to host tutorial videos, sample remixes from Adobe influencers, and other information about how the film was created.

Results
The campaign exceeded expectations, generating 2.09M video views, 2.16M engagements, and over 1k successful user submissions.

My Role
As lead designer, I developed and executed the contest's visual identity across social posts and microsite, collaborating with a motion designer to ensure a cohesive look and feel.
